is a queer ancestral writing ritual for a cohort of 5-25 participants. This short-format workshop for queer writers and artists (or creatives of any kind) calls in the work and words of queer and trans ancestors of literary and oratory craft. Working from a basis of understanding that language is animate, and vibratory power of the word is eternal, this workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to make a space for writing and storytelling as a practice of devotion, performed within a ritual container.
The focus is on process, not outcome. Participants may share their work with the group, or not. This is not a writer’s workshop as such, but a generative space for queer word-workers and world-builders to engage in the spiritualized aspects of the so-called “spooky art” of writing.
This workshop is adaptable in length and format- it can be delivered for small groups or solo practitioners, online or in person, over one day or multiple days.
The fee for the delivery of this workshop starts at 600 USD for one 2.5 hour session in person or online.
This workshop was first crafted for the Performance Space Sydney Queer Development program, at the invitation of non-binary theatre-maker Dino Dimitriadis.
